3D Printers at The Smithtown Library

 

Thank you to the Friends of The Smithtown Library for donating 3D Printers to each of our Library buildings.  Patrons can submit requests to have a designed printed.  These requests are reviewed to ensure they comply with the Library's policy, then sent to the requested pick-up location for printing.

Battle of the Books

The Battle of the Books is a county-wide competition for young adults who wish to represent their public library. The competition will take place on Saturday, August 13th at Stony Brook University. Teams will answer trivia questions based on eight different books and score points for their team with each correct answer.  To be eligible to participate, you must be entering grade 6-9, you must be able to attend meetings and must be ready for a summer of reading fun. For more information, sign up for the first Battle meeting at the Branch you wish to tryout for.

Boater Safety

Saturdays, June 4 & 11

Kings Park Branch
Peter Cahill, a NYS instructor will be teaching this two-session, eight-hour course on boater safety. He will cover the basics of safe boating practice, navigation rules and safe boat handling. Completion of this course meets the NYS requirements for a boating safety certificate.
Anyone under the age of 21 must be accompanied by an adult. A copy of the NYS certification may be obtained through NYS for a $10 fee.

Recycle Station

The Smithtown Library collects the following items for recycling cell phones & eyeglasses.
The Library no longer accepts batteries for recycling. The Town of Smithtown now allows residents to dispose of many household batteries in their garbage. For more information click here.
