Give our animal friends a helping hand - work together to create donations for shelter animals in need. Mutt Club is a Mutt-i-grees in the Library program, an extension of the Mutt-i-grees Movement and Curriculum, a unique approach to humane education, social and emotional learning.

Safety First
(Families with children of all ages)

Officers from the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department will be available to photograph and fingerprint children and submit their relevant information to the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services (Amber Alert). Parents are issued ID cards to keep for their children. In addition, specially trained Officers will be on hand to inspect your child’s car seat, looking for possible defects and proper installation techniques. No registration required.

Bike Rodeo
(Families with children under the age of 12)

Bring your bike and helmet to the Library and ride our safety track. Learn real world bicycle safety skills, such as where to ride on the road, safely crossing an intersection and how to properly wear a helmet. Presented by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office. No registration required.

Sing, dance and ROCK OUT with Play Date! Join husband and wife duo Greg Attonito (of The Bouncing Souls) and Shanti Wintergate of the award-winning kindie music group, Play Date. Their music inspires children to use their imaginations – and their dance moves – to rock out and explore the world around them. Play Date’s live, interactive show is a great place for families to share a positive, energetic and memorable music experience together.
