3D Printers at The Smithtown Library

 

Thank you to the Friends of The Smithtown Library for donating 3D Printers to each of our Library branches.  Patrons can submit requests to have a designed printed.  These requests are reviewed to ensure they comply with the Library's policy, then sent to the requested pick-up location for printing.

Kings Park Branch Teen Programs

St. Johnland Nursing Center Visit
Saturday, October 14 • 2:30-4:00 pm
Earn community service and brighten up someone’s day by playing board games with the residents of the St. Johnland Nursing Center in Kings Park. Teens must have a parent or guardian sign a permission slip, which will be located at the reference desk, in order to participate. Teens also must have their own transportation to and from the nursing center. If you are exhibiting any symptoms of a cold or flu on the day of the program, please do not attend. This program is part of The Great Give Back series. Register

Junior LEGO® Buddies Volunteers
Wednesday, October 18 • 4:00-5:00pm
Be paired with a younger child and help him/her with their LEGO® creation. Each teen will receive one hour of community service. Register

Harry Potter Party
Thursday, October 19 • 5:00-6:00pm
Celebrate all things Harry Potter! Join us for magical crafts, snacks and activities. Feel free to come dressed as your favorite character. Register

Science Buddies Volunteers
Saturday, October 21 • 10:00-11:00 am 
Join this innovative program which pairs teens and children to work with simple, but awesome projects that explore science, engineering and math. Teens receive an hour of community service for participating. Register

Art Buddies Volunteers
Monday, October 30 • 3:45-4:45pm
Enjoy earning community service by spending an afternoon paired with a younger child for some art projects. Each teen will receive one hour of community service for participating. Register

Teen Karaoke
Wednesday November 8 • 4:00-5:00 pm
Come unleash your inner superstar and sing your heart out to classics, popular hits, and soundtrack favorites! Snacks will be provided. Register

Thanksgiving Dinner on a Cupcake
Thursday, November 9 • 7:00-8:15pm
Turkey on a cupcake? Decorate a Thanksgiving dinner themed cupcake using candy, buttercream, and fondant cutouts. Everyone will go home with three cupcakes in a bakery box. Please inform staff of any food allergies prior to the program. Register

Recycle Station

The Smithtown Library collects un-needed eyeglasses for recycling through the Suffolk Cooperative Library System's services for the sight-impaired.  glasses
The Library is no longer accepting cell phones for recycling.
