The Young Adult Summer Reading Program’s theme for 2015 is Unmask! If you are a teen entering grade 6-12 you can register at your local Smithtown Library branch on Monday, June 22! The more books you read and activities you complete, the more prizes and raffle tickets you will earn. The raffle tickets can be used to win one of the grand prizes. Be sure to stay tuned for fun filled programs you can sign up for! Programs include craft workshops, volunteer opportunities, baking classes, movie days and nights, and so much more! Comic Book Magnets for Teens

Getting Ready to Babysit
Wednesday, July 22• 5:30-8:30pm
This program will demonstrate the responsibilities of babysitting and the skills necessary to become a certified sitter with a variety of hands-on activities, discussions and presentations.  The fee for this program is $17.00 per patron.  A cash, check or money order made payable to The Smithtown Library or Online Registration.  Registration begins June 1at 10am. Register
 
DIY Airbrush T-Shirts

Raising a Dog to be a Guide Dog
Wednesday, August 12• 7:00-8:00pm
Are you interested in learning what it takes to raise a dog to be a Guide Dog?  The Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, located in Smithtown, will tell you all about how they ensure that each dog is paired with an applicant that best suits its needs.  They will also go over the training that is necessary for each dog. Please bring in either a food or toy item for any animal so that we can donate to the local animal shelter.  Each teen registered will receive 1 hour of community service.  Those interested in raising a guide dog are also encourage to attend. Register
