Please join us for Authors Unlimited 4 on April 25, 2015 at 10:00-3:00pm.  The event, taking place at St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue, celebrates reading by connecting teens and authors. It is a free full-day program open to everyone, but teens and tweens get preferred seating! Attendees will get the chance to meet dynamic authors of young adult literature first at an author panel and then in smaller breakout sessions afterward. Books will be available for purchase with time for autographs at the end of the day! Teens who attend can earn community service by attending and writing a review for the Authors Unlimited blog!

Book Buddies Teen Volunteers

Earn community service by reading to a younger book buddy. It is a rewarding experience that you won't want to miss. Teens must attend both sessions and the half hour training on May 14 to participate in the Book Buddies Volunteer program at our Kings Park Branch and Smithtown Main Building. Register

Teen Gardening Club

In this club, teens will get their hands dirty as they install and tend a new vegetable garden at the Kings Park Library. We will also learn many aspects of gardening while tending to the beautiful butterfly garden out front. Community service hours will be awarded for hours worked in the gardens. Please dress appropriately for working outside. Thank you to the Kings Park Hardware store for supporting our Teen Gardening Club. Register
 
Living Environment Regents Review
Tuesday, June 9 • 6:00-8:00 pm
Prepare for this year’s regents exam with a certified instructor. Review materials will be given out at the class. Cash, check, money order or online for $10.00 made out to the Smithtown Library is due at in-person registration. Registration begins May 4 for Smithtown residents and May 18 for all out of district residents. Register
 
Junior LEGO® Buddies Volunteers

Come and be paired with a younger child and help them with their LEGO® creation. Teens will earn one hour of community service for participating in this program. Register
 
Battle of the Books
Thursdays, June 11, 18, 25 • 3:30-5:00pm
This County-wide competition is intended for young adults who will be entering grades 6-9 in September of 2014. Teens must read 8 books and answer trivia questions about the books. Tryouts will determine who will make the final team of 6. Register 
 
Junior Makerspace Volunteers
Saturday, June 13 • 3:00-4:00pm
Join this volunteer program and help young children tinker in this one of a kind lab that explores science, simple mechanics, elements of design and other creative projects. Each teen will be paired with a child to make a unique creation. Register
 
Paracords for Troops          
Tuesday, June 30 • 7:00-8:00pm
Teens will learn how to makes these paracord bracelets to donate to the troops. Each teen will earn one hour of community service. Register
