Celebrating 250 years of American history, Historian Robert von Bernewitz will discuss the various historic cemeteries, types of burial sites and noteworthy people who are buried on Long Island. Burial sites of important people from Long Island who served in the armed forces during the Revolutionary War and other major wars will also be discussed. Find out where Mae West, Jackie Robinson, Jackson Pollock, William Sydney Mount and Teddy Roosevelt are laid to rest. Learn about the oldest burial ground in New York State and the Long Island location of the largest cemetery in the country.
