Winter can present unique challenges for caregivers and those they support, especially older adults and people living with dementia. This session focuses on practical, easy-to-apply strategies to promote safety, comfort, and well-being during the colder months. Topics include preventing falls and managing winter hazards, maintaining warmth and proper nutrition, supporting hydration and physical activity indoors, addressing seasonal mood changes, and preparing for winter emergencies. Caregivers will also learn ways to maintain routines, provide sensory comfort, and reduce stress while fostering connection and dignity throughout the winter season.
