Program Description

Event Details

Art is a need to express. And a culture that has shunned and ignored Black artists did not stop them from creating outstanding, thoughtful, provocative art. Black art may be political, rooted in identity, about race, social justice, or a means of personal expression. There is no one definition of Black Art, but through various media and styles, unique perspectives and experiences, we will explore several important Black American artists. Celebrate Black History Month and 250 years of American history with artist and professor Chris Vivas.
