Hot flashes and night sweats affect 80% of women and can cause insomnia, decreased memory and concentration, brain fog and mood changes. They can last 7-10 years. Dr. Frank Bonura, Director, Menopausal Health & Osteoporosis Program at St. Catherine of Siena Hospital will discuss causes and treatments, including the use of bio-identical hormone therapy and non-hormonal therapy for women who choose not to use hormonal therapy or those who can’t due to a history of breast cancer or cardiovascular disease.
