Theodore Roosevelt - The First Presidential Movie Star

The 26th President of the United States, Oyster Bay's own, Theodore Roosevelt  wowed early movie-goers with his energetic on-screen persona. The magnetic Mr. Roosevelt could have easily signed  a movie contract. Only a fraction of the nearly 200 short films of Roosevelt survive. Celebrate 250 Years of American history as film historian Glenn Andreiev presents a talk on Theodore Roosevelt on film. There will be rare film clips dating from 1897, showing Roosevelt in action for the next twenty years, even in early cartoons.
