Help us take care of our vegetable garden. This program is geared towards patrons 18 years and older with sensory issues, those on the autism spectrum or those who have other specific needs.
Smithtown Building Closed
Due to the storm that occurred during the early morning hours of August 19, which caused torrential flooding, our Smithtown Building suffered catastrophic damage to its lower level. Therefore, until further notice, our Smithtown Building will be closed while we continue to assess the damage and begin to rebuild. Our other three buildings remain open to assist our patrons. Help aid local food pantries by planting, tending and harvesting vegetables in the Library’s garden bed. Meet us in the lobby to head out to the garden together. In the event of rain, this program will be held in the Community Room.
Teach younger children how to play chess and checkers. You do not have to be an expert to volunteer but knowledge of the rules is required. Each teen will receive one hour of community service for participating.
Smithtown Book Discussion Group - The Thursday Murder Club

The Battle of the Books is a county-wide competition for young adults who wish to represent their public library. The competition will take place on Friday, August 9 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Hauppauge.
