Teach younger children how to play chess and checkers. You do not have to be an expert to volunteer but knowledge of the rules is required. Each teen will receive one hour of community service for participating.

The Battle of the Books is a county-wide competition for young adults who wish to represent their public library. The competition will take place on Friday, August 9 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Hauppauge.

In honor of International Cat Day, let’s make a feline friend lollipop holder! We’ll tour the LearnLab, then learn how we can use the Cricut cutting machine to make this purrfect celebratory treat.

Come to the Children’s Craft Room during these hours to tinker, build and play with a variety of STEAM challenges, toys and projects.

Join our Local History Librarian and tour the Library's Long Island Room.  We will explore Long Island postcards, learn about local history and create our own postcards in the LearnLab.

Join us out on our lawn for an evening movie on a giant inflatable screen! Kick off the night with a visit from special guest Poppy, then stay for a showing of Trolls 3. Bring your own chairs or blankets and we'll supply the popcorn.
