Teen Volunteer Opportunities
Can’t fit our volunteer opportunities into your schedule?
The Smithtown Library now offers one-hour volunteer sessions by appointment! Teens in grades 6-12 can spend time at the Library working on a variety of projects to help make a difference in our community. Teens may schedule up to two time slots per month. Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities
Teen volunteers are needed to design and make bookmarks. Bookmarks will be sent to patrons who are enjoying The Smithtown Library's Homebound Mail Service. Each teen will receive one hour of community service.
Help a younger child code robots. Each teen will receive one hour community service credit for participating.
Teen volunteers are needed to assist with and referee the 8th Annual Smithtown Library Rock-Paper-Scissors Tournament. Each teen will earn two hours of community service.
Help aid local food pantries by planting, tending and harvesting vegetables in the Library’s garden bed. Meet us in the lobby to head out to the garden together. In the event of rain, this program will be held in the Community Room.
Decorate sea shells to raise awareness for cleaner beaches and oceans here on Long Island. We will paint shells to be spread across local beaches. Each teen will earn one hour of community service.
